Thomas Lewis, of Lewis' and Co., drapers, was to-day fined 10s., with 73,.- • costs, for a breach of tlio Police 'Offences' Act in having scat to a debtor notice which was likely, by reason of its wording and, appearance, to cause any person ignorant of, the lair to beliovo that it had legal effect. Tho col- ■ lector who delivered the notice was similarly fined. This is believed to be the first case of its kind in Southland. DR. HENRY'S MISSION. ■ ■ ■: Cisborne, August 24.
