Wallace Mackenzie, president of the League , to-tho Education Boards' Conference yesterday, "has ascertained that there -is a 'widespread feeling .throughout New' Zealand in favour of tho Government taking, a referendum on the question of Bible-reading in State schools. I, therefore, on behalf of the executive, respectfully beg • to suggest that your conference consider tho desirability of appointing a small commission (of three or more), consisting of members of education boards, who shall be deputed to visit. Sydney to inquire into the Now South. Wales' system of religious .instruction in Stato schools, in voguo in their schools for tho past 44 years." "Anybody want to go to Sydney?" inquired tho chairman (Mr. P. Pirani). There was no reply. It was then moved by the Rev. P. B. Frasor and seconded by Mr. C. J.
