♦— ■ ■•' SIR GEO. REID ADVOCATES ; , CLOSER BONDS. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. (Bee. August 24,.8.50 p.m.), London, August 24. Sir. Geo. Reid, High Commissioner for Australia, speaking in Dublin, said, ho had noticed during'his long residence in Australia the very marked, rapid, and over-increasing strength of what was called Imperial sentiment. Tho feelings'lot,-Australia, wore never so sincere, so intense,'-iuid so loyal as to-day. Nevertheless,' somo of their statesmen should anxiously endeavour to discover some new method of drawing tho daughter nations closer,. and thus show the harmony, strength, and unity, which to-day was the glory of the Empire, 'arid would equally distinguish it in the future. Tho greatest responsibility rested on those who endeavoured to alter the relations of those nations. The, English people should cease to look, jealously on the growth, of tho Old Land's daughternations, but unite with them still more closely in tho strong bond of Imperial union. ■
