BRITISH CRUISER ASHORE.
ACCIDENT TO. H.M.S. BEDFORD. By Telegraph—Prees Association-Copyright. (Roc. August 22, 10.5 p.m.) Kobe, August 22. Reuter's Tokio correspondent reports that tho British cruiser Bedford, while steaming, from Wei-hai-wci to Nagasaki, ran aground at Quelpart,. the southernmost point of Korea. A Japanese warship was dispatched to tho Bedford's assistance.
The Bedford is a first-class cruiser. of 9SOO tons displacement and ,22,457 i.h:p. She was built at Govan, and completed in 1903 at a total cost of .£706,020. Sho carries a complement of 537 men, and is commanded by Captain E. S. Fitzherbert.
