M'lCenzit! , (Minister for Public Works), stated that an attempt was made to acquire part of the land, but. the Natives evidently thought they had the blind.side of the Government, and wan ted the. Minister to buy up the whole, block'of 13,000 acres. 'T am riot at present inclined to name the esact locality in which Dr. Bell believes it will be worth while' prospecting," added the Hon. Mr. M'Kcnzie, "but it is not far from Russell."
