."'Mr. Robert Christison, a prominent pastoralist in North Queensland, who has recently sold his property with the intention of settling in England, has presented the Bishop of North Queensland with £800 towards the endowment of the Bush Brotherhood, and £450 for the erection of a .new church at Prairie.. Prairie is a small, bush township, near to Mr. Christison's old station of Lammermoori. which at present has no religious building' of any kind. The gift to tlie Brotherhood will bo augmented by £80 from S.P.C.K., who recently promised to give £500 to, meet £4500 raised to form an endowment for acontral sustcntation fund for tho payment of tho stipends of.clergy. Tho capital of this fund now stands at tho sum of £1980. .
Mr. R. H. Soltnu, 8.A., of Pembroke College, Oxford, who was ono of-the only two men in the First Class in tho Modern Languages Final Honours School this year, and who also obtained a First Class last 'year in the Final School of Modern History, is a member of Muswell Hill Baptist Church, He was educated at tho Lyoeo Cnrnot, Paris, and nt Highgate School, whditcn he won an open scholarship at Pembroke College and tho Charles Arthur Sharpe Kxhibition at Highgato. Mr, Solt.iu, whose ialher has ham for many years working with tho M'All Mission in Franco, is a great-grandson of Frederic Mound, tho founder of the Free Church of Kraiico.
