A CHALLENGE IN" COURT.. Will the Children's Hospital Fund' benefit by a challenge that was uttered in the-Supreme Court yesterday? Mr. Charles Nodine, while conducting- hiaown case as defendant in the now wellknown perjury charge, asked Mr. Robert Hannah, one of the largest boot ■ manufacturers in New Zealand, "Don't you know that I also deal in boots and" shoes?" . ■ . ■'. ' Witness: Yes, you got a pair from me for iv customer on one occasion. (Laughter.) . Mr. Nodine: Do you know that 1 have a larger stock of boots and shoes than you have? (Incredulous laugh- s ter.) Witness: I will give the Children , ! Hospital a cheque for £1000, if you can substantiate that statement. Mr. Nodine: Will you put the cheque down now? ."..-.' Witness: Will you produce what you have got? . . ■ . '. The matter then dropped. ,
