THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES. For the prize essay competition held by the New Zealand Institute of Arvnuntunts this year, tho subject was "Goodwill, Its Nature and iieatmvnc n, ..c----counts." Eleven'papers were received, and nrizes have been awarded as follow: —First, A. M. Seaman; second, F. A. Barclay; third, Arnold Hore. Tho president of the society (Mr. James Brown), in announcing the results last evening, stated that tho quality of tho papers sent in was decidedly , good. ' •
