EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Eastbourne Borough Counoil met on Saturday evening at Wise's Rooms, Rona Bay. Present: The Mayor (Mr. H. W. Shortt), Councillors Mackenzie, Ross, Russell, Sanson, Wills, and the town clerk. Leave of abse'uco was granted to Councillors Foley, Organ, and Robertson.
Requests from two architects for a slight concession in regard to.studs under the building by-laws was referred to tlio Buildings Committee.
Permission was granted Mr. Stevenson to use the council's right-of-way and section, to enable liim to have cartago access to his property fronting the beach.
Some discussion took place as to the best means of bringing about an improvement in tlio ferry service. *In connection with the water scheme, it was decided that members of tlio council should make a tour of inspection over the proposed sites of works.'
It was decided to construct a footpath along the Parado at Rona Bay. A footpath, with concrete kerbing, is at pre-, sent under construction at Orua Road.
It was resolved that Mr. Thompson carter, and the school authorities should be called upon to put in proper channel crossings.
.The inspector of nuisances was instructed to make a systematic inspection of the borough, and report to next meeting,
The ranger was authorised to collect a fine of ss. from owners of wandering stock for each offence.
