MATCHES POSTPONED. Owing .to tho unpropitious weather on Saturday it was decided to declare all Association matches off. There were only two senior matches set down for decision, the A and B trial match; and the Y.M.C.A.-Thistle Charity Cup fixture. Some disappointment was expressed that the Postponement Committee did not play off this latter fixture because it practically means a Saturday wasted, and three senior teams will be without a game until one of these two teams are defeated, BROWN SHIELD MATCH. Team to meet at Y.M.C.A. room at 7 o'clock on Tuesday evening next. A letter received from the Otago Association states that the southern combination is an exceptionally strong one, so that a good game should result. The team will arrive in Wellington on Friday morning next, and consists of the following players :—Goal, Knowles;. backs, Aspinal), Mayhcw; half-backs, Elliott, Garnctt, Young; forwards, Forbes, Ritchie,' Baillie, Chadwick, Evans. Extra players; Cameron, Morion, and Gardner. FOR 30Y SCOUTS. An Association football competition on cup-tio lines has been arranged between the different' Boy Scouts com-' panics for- a banner presented by Mr. T. Shields, one of the vice-presidents of the Wellington Football Association. About eight entries are expected, and tho matches will probably begin on August 27.
