MINERS IN CONGRESS.
AN INTERNATIONAL GATHERING. By Telegraph—Press Associa-tion—Copyright. (Rec. August 11, 0.10 a.m.) Brussels, August 10. The International Miners' Congress has resolved that mines inspectors should be,elected by the workmen, and be paid by the State. 'The inspectors should have the right to inspect the mines at all times. • Messrs.. Kerr and Hansmann, stated that 100,000 mining accidents occurred in Germany in 1909, whereof 12,700 were fatal or grave. Mr. W. Brace, Labour member for Glamorganshire in the House of Commons, declared that 140,000 men' were annually invalided in Great Britain, and 1000 Jailed. '' The nationalisation of mines was unanimously approved.
