The- monthly meeting of the Hutt County Council was-.held yesterday, there being present': The chairman (Mr. C. Whiteiuan), and Councillors Lynch, 'Welch,'" Galloway, Edwards, and Wakeham. ; ■■■• •■ '• The engineer's report, which was adopted, stated that 2500 ft.' of black birch had been ordered for renewal work on tho bridgo near, ;Horokiwi School, while the Silverstresm Bridge, : Epuni Ridiug, , had also been repaired, .1200 feet of wheel planking having been put in. -'-Lyuch's'.'.Crossing (Wharero'a Riding), had been completed and opened for traffic, while various road works in other parts-of the district were receiving attention. The tender ofA.'- Cowie, at £3 10s: per chain, was accepted for 22 chains of the Mount Cecil Road. ' ■
