ORDER-IN-COUNCIL ISSUED. Although a considerable period has elapsed since the first sod of the Wadestown tramway was turned, the Order-in-Couucil giving, tho City. Corporation tho legal-authority to extend its tramway system, has only recently been signed. The following luro'visions are of general interest: — Tho cars used on the tramway (Clauso 1\) shall bo equipped with two distinct brakes, both of which shall, bo constantly in use in tho ordinary traffic service of the tramway. Ono of these brakes shall be and shall' be proved to be capable of making both an ordinary rail and on a-greasy rail such emergency stops as the engiheer-in-chof may reasonably proscribe, having regard to tho standard English practice. The in-.specting-engineer shall be the solo judge as to tho condition of tho. rail when tests of tho brake- or brakes are made Fares for Passengers.—Between tho junction with tho existing tramway av Park Street and the terminus at Wadestown (length about 6345 feet), 2d. Children of three years of age, or under, in charge of an, adult, free, but not more than two children shall travel free in charge of one adult; any in excess of two to pay the same faro as children over three years of age and under twelve years of age. Children over three, and under twelve, years of age, to pay one-half fare either way, subject to the minimum fare clauso (a). All of twelve years of age or upwards to pay full faro. Fares by workers' cars starting from terminus at Wadestown and from Park Street between J and 8 a.m., and between 5 and 6 p.m., half tho abovo rate, subject to the minimum fare clauso (the minimum fare shall bo Id.).
■ Charges for Goods and-Animals. — Passengers' ordinary luggage to the extent of 141b. in weight shall bo carried free of charge, and such luggage in excess of that weight shall in respect of such excess be chargeable at small parcel rates. For every parcel riot exceeding- 281b. weight carried for any distance, 3d.; exceeding 281b., but not exceeding 561b., carried for any 'distance,' 6d.; exceeding 561b. weight, and for every animal such reasonable charge as tho local authority thinks fit. '■
Running of Cars. —A car shall bo dispatched from each terminus at least every sixty (60) minutes during each day between the before-stated hours, except when prevented by stress of weather, renewing tho line, or other sufficient , cause. Cars.for the .use of workers similar to the ordinary passenger cars shall be run daily, except on Sundays and Statutory holidays and •Saturday afternoons, as follow: —From the terminus at'Wadestowii to,' Park Street, one car in the morning between the hours of 7 and 8 a.m., and one car in j;he evening between tho hours of 5 and 6. p.m. From Park Street to the terminus at Wadestown, one car in the morning between the hours of 7 and 8 a.m., and one car in the evening between tho hours of 5 and 6 p.m.
