SAILORS' REST.

Despite the unfavourable state of the weather, a very large audience of seamen and waterside workers attended at the' Sailors' Rest last evening, when the St. Patrick's Seamen's Conference of the Sooiety. of St. Vincent de Paul presented its fortnightly " programme.. The faro vided met with the keen appreciation of the audience. Items were contributed by tlie following ladies' and gentlemen :— Pianoforte solo, Hiss Duprez; song, Mr. •T. Flanagan; ,song, Mr. G. Hill; song, Miss'M. Frith; comic sketch, Messrs. J. Knowles. J. •' Sharp, J. Green, and. J. Keene; Song, Mr. W. Scrimgeoiir; double Irish Jig, Misses M. Fnina and M. Butler; coon songs, Mr. J. Knowles; song, Miss Duprez; recitation, Mr. W. Henity; sons, Mr. J. Sharp; song, Mr. J. Green; comio items, Mr. J. Sweeney; song, Miss A. Frith. The "Tin Can Bandj" 'comprising eight little girls in costume, appeared under the. leadership of Miss M. Butler, a'nd met with an enthusiastic reception. The accompaniments were played by Misses Duprez, Frith, Butler, and, Messrs. Keen and Sorimegeour. Captain Behne'r returned thanks to the performers.
