Sewell, in "Sporting Life," says that considering the money the Australians made on their short South African tour, when-most of them wero put up, and travelling free or at greatly reduced rates, tho South Africans cannot bo accused of being grasping' in asking for a guarantee of .£SOOO to cover their visit to Australia. The South .Africans do not intend to ask Mr. Abe Bailey to foot tEe till, and tho feeling is that the' Australians should not expect all the fun and none of the risk. The trip may now bo regarded as definitely off.
