GUT OP A MEDAL. (By Teleerapn.—Press Association.) Christchurch, August 8. His Excellency the ' Governor (Lord Islington) passed to-day in sight-seeing and private business. To-morrow he attends the Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National meeting at Riccarton, and on Wednesday morning he leaves for Dunedin by the first express. In connection with the musical examinations conducted in New Zealand by the Trinity College of, Music, Lord Islington has signified his intention of continuing the presentation of the medal known in. past years as the "Plunket" medal. In fnture the medal will be .known as the "Governor's" medal, and will bo competed for under conditions similar to those that governed the "Plunket" medal.
