According to a Taranaki farmer, a buyer of pigs has said that ho is prepared .to pay one farthing; more for pigs fed 011 pasteurised milk or whey than for those fed on unpasteurised 'food. ifr. Jacob Marx, of Mangatoki is reported to have stated tliat .if Taranaki fanners liad been in the same position as thoso of Australia in regard to the supply of butter boxes they would bo paying £12,000 a year more for them than they do now.
