The annual report of the Australian Jockey Club shows that the year ended with a profit of £11,340. The stakes distributed amounted to £68,682, and the' added money to £44,950. . Waikaraka is being constantly schooled at Awapuni, and is turnjng out a, proficient hurdle horse. Being endowed with plenty of pace, Waikaraka should have no difficulty in winning u number of hack liurdle races.

If ho succeeds in negotiating the big country safely, and tlicro appears to be no good reason why be should not, tho old Grafton gciding Exmoor should have a great chance in the Enfield Steeplos on Tuesday. At a meeting of the Marton Jockey Club held during the week it was resolved,:—"That no lawn passes be issued to the general public on race days, and that anyone desiring to leave the lawn paddock can procure a ticket from the secretary."
