(From Oar Special CorresDon'ilont.i A sitting of the Petoiio Police Court was hold yesterday, when Messrs. 'W. Inglis and R. Mothes,, J.P.'s, occupied the Bench. • A fine of £'2,' in default soven days' imprisonment, was imposed on Thomas Watson, for" causing a disturbance at the Grand National Hotel. AV Ciutterbuck, for discharging firearms within the borough, was ordered to pay Court costs,'7s.. L. Howard, alias John' Wilson, was charged with placing objectionable matter oil' the footpath. He was fined 55., With. 7s. costs,' in default, 24: hours' imprisonment. W. Miles, a fruit hawker, wAs charged witli leaving fruit in Tepuni Street.-' A fine of 205., and costs 95., was imposed, in default seven days' imprisonment. . C. Garner was chargcd. with leaving his cart-wheel unlocked, and also , with., having used threatening language. Accused pleaded, guilty in both cases, and for the'first offence was fined te, and costs 75., in'default 24 hours imprisonment.; For the" second offence lie was lined, 95.; in default, 24 hours' imprisonment. ■ HUTT SKATING. Much interest is being displayed in the forthcoming carnival, which will be. held in the Ilntt Skating Kink next AVedncsd.iv evening. "Athos, the king of skaters," will be the chief attraction, and the programme of interesting events should attract large numbers. Last night tlio floor was again filled with skaters.
