Consternation was caused on the Clyde by the announcement of tho Shipbuilders' Employers' Federation that unless the men on strike at the Goran Dry Docks resumed work yesterday a general- lock-out of the whole of the shipbuilders of tho United Kingdom would bo declared on August 13, in pursuance of the terms of the trade agreement of last year. Tho executive of the Boilermakers' and Shipwrights' Unions • twico addressed the strikers, and' eventually persuaded the caulkers to resume. Til® drillers, however, continue on strike.
