M'Ewan) presiding. ■ Mr.' Cox presented a. balancesheet from, the recent'promenade concert, which showed u net profit of £6 17s. The secretary reported the somewhat melancholy : nows that from sixteen subscription lists circulated iti Hutt, no donations had been received up to date. Mr. Hailcock stated that the. net proceeds from the Hockey Minstrels was £!>:Us. 6d. A. hearty vote of thanks was accorded, the sub-commitlces which had both concerts in hand. The chairman stated that, together with, the proceeds of the concerts, an anonymous donation of .£5 •had been received, making the total to date ,£123 3s. 10d„. and as the, construction of the van would cost £Wi 10s., plus '.£ll"10s. ; 'for .stretchers, there was-still another ,£35 to raise. The Hutt Borough Council wrote stating, that until further information was > forthcoming, in Tegard to tho wagon fund, the council was unable to do anything. The secretary was instructed, to write to the council informing them that tho committee would be. only too pleased to give further information, provided the nature of the information was known. Members of the committee expressed satisfaction at the progress of the van,.which is.being constructed locally. . • . ■';. , HUTT SKATING RINK. Skating at.the Hutt continues to attract . large.' numbers of sport-seekers'. ■ Last evening skate waltzing was indulged in to the great enjoyment of' those who took part. A brass band is in attend-ance-every evening. ■'.'.. -PETONE PALACE THEATRE. .Every,-skate availablo was in., use at the Petone rink last night, during the learners' session, and this, of course, goes to show that tile promoters have supplied a distince want by establishing ,the rink. .The afternoon and evening session was also well attended. -.
