As the streets south and oast-of Seatoun Park drained' naturally to a water hole situated partly on the Defence Koserve boundary, .and ;it was of the greatest importance that the drainage should bo completed first. Tho cost ol the pipe drain was set down at £90. The Water Supply and Drainage Committee reported that it had decided to ask Mr. It. L. Mestayer to report upon the cost of providing additional power at the power station for tramways and I lighting. It was also recommended that the charge (or water to tho WellingtoA Gas Company be Is. per 1000 gallons so long as tho present agreement with the city continues. The report was adopted. It was slated in tho engineer's report that the trees and shrubs for the borough's plantations had arrived,-in good condition, and line weather had favoured the tree-planting- operations, which had been distributed as follow:—Tramway enclosures, 30; plantation, Seatoun tunnel 128; Karaka Koad plantations, 136; Worser Day, 50; Ouehunga Road, 265; total 669.
