Newsholme) has made a scathing denunciation of tho domestic sewerage and public scavenging arrangements in the-mining district of Durham County, which has the highest enteric death-rate in England. Tho eating of shell-fish, particularly mussels, is stated to be a frequent source of enteric fever in- tho district.
