REMARKABLE GROWTH IN MEMBERSHIP. By Telegraph—Prees Association— Copyright. London, August 2. The membership of the Church of England Men's Society is 103,000, including 191 branches overseas. The objects of the Church of England Men's Society are as follow:—To promote and deepen the spiritual life of members and associates; to provide opportunities for social intercourse among members and associates; to band men together in a common elforfc to promote the glory of God and tho extension of His Kingdom; to provide for the systematic commendation from one branch to another oil chango of residence or place of work. The rapid growth of the society under tho able and vigorous leadership of the Archbishop of York (Dr. Cosmo Lang) lias been a notable feature of recent Church life. The Archbishop recently stated that "a great opportunity seems to bo disclosing itself of linking Churchmen throughout tho world in an effective system of mutual commendation, and of realising in a definito and practical way the great ideal of brotherhood iu the, Church." A few months ago tho Rev. H. S. Woollcombe made a tour of Australia and New Zealand on behalf of tho society, and numerous branches were established in the centres of population.
