MASTERTON NOTES.

SPORTS CLUB MEETINGS. (Prom Our Special CorreßDondent.l An enjoyable entertainment was given by the young men of tho Congregational Church in tho Dominion Hall on lhursday evening.

A total of 100,000 rainbow trout ova and 360,000 brown trout ova has" been,' received at tho Masterton fish hatch-' enes to date.

A crowded audience attended the local Methodist schoolroom on Thurs- "'•• iu , u a " s P' nst ers'' concert" was Held. A very, attractive programme was presented by the youthful members or the congregation this including nursery rhymes, illustrated song, recitations, ctC. . ■■: .: ■■-■'

The fourth "leg-in"- competition in* connection with the Masterton'Morris lube Club was fired on Friday nightj and resulted in M.- M'lntosh securing! a leg-in" for tho "A" Class, with H score of 35, and J. Eeed for the "V* Class with a score of' 34.

.4* * e annual meeting on Friday ot the Masterton Racing Glub, Mr. C« ij. \ allance presided over a good attendance of members. Tho annual report' and balance-sheet wore adopted. The question of having a ten-shilling 'totalisator was discussed, but no-definite action was taken. It was decided that, with a view'to effecting economy, the stakes offered for tho ensuing years be reduced to £2500. Messrs. R. O; Smith' and P. Harrison were elected' new memdots of/the club. The Mastorton Bowling Club held its annual, meeting on Friday, Mr. E. J. Rose "presiding. The annual report showed that the' bank overdraft had been reduced, and thatthc membership after purging the roll, stood at 09. No fewer than twenty-nine new members . had been elected during the season., The- membership now stood at 111. The club competitions had been keenly con-', tested, ■ and the Match Committee wasj congratulated upon getting the matcheo off regularly and expeditiously. Thewinners of trophies won 'during the;, season were presented with their prizes by the president. Mr. C. Perry, was also presented .with- a souvenir in,' recognition. of the interest he had taken in the game during the season. Tho following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr.; J. The monthly . meeting of managers',. of the Mastcrton Technical School was'-' hold on Friday evening,' Mr; Edwin; Feist presiding. The treasurer reported! a credit balance of £39 14s. 6d. Accounts amounting to £6 35..,.Gd.. wore passed for -payment. It was decided) to insure all exhibits at tho art exhi-v! bition next week, and to appoint Mr.* A. P. Foilding caretaker. "•■•
