TEACHERS' INSTITUTE.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Welling, ton District Teachers' Institute was' held at South Wellington School last evening,, the president (Mr. George Flux) in the chair. There vvasa small attendance of members; The annual report and balance-sheet (already, published in The Dominion) were read and adopted. ■• ■' ■ The following" officers, were 'elected' for the' ensuing year: — President, Mr. J. Caughley; vicepresidents, Miss Craig, and Mr. George Flux; secretary, Mr. E. H. Ballachey. (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. J. A'. Burns; Management Committee, Misses Chativin and Dowdeswell, and Messrs. H. A.:Parkinson and W. H: Gould. It was resolved'unanimously, to vote an honorarium- of five guineas to the. retiring secretary (Mr. G. M. Hender; son), in token of his valuable service?;during.;his., : .term,,,of,;office. Votes, of thanks -were accorded to the'outgoing Executive Committee and ( officers for their services during' the pSst'year. ~ At the conclusion of the business' a social was held, many, teachers and friends being present. Music, .dancing, and cards filled in a pleasant evening.
