PENSIONS FOR PAUPERS.
' THE COST TO BRITAIN. By Telegraph-Press Assotvalion-CoDyrlirhi London, July 28. It is estimated that the cost ,of the removal of the poor law disqualification and the granting of old age pensions to paupers will total £750,00.0 for the last quarter of the current year, and two and a half millions for .tho whole of 1911. This will represent a million pounds saved from the rates, and that amount will bo claimed by tho Exchequer, butlegislation will be necessary to recover rt.
