CITY COUNCIL.
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Wellington City Council was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P.), ■ and Councillors T. Ballinger, J. P. Luke, M.P.. James , Trevor, J. J. Devihe, T. Carmichael, J. E. Fitzgerald, Geo. Shirtcliffe, Robert Fletcher, G. Frost, F. Cohen, A. R. Atkinson, W. H. Morrah, and A. H. Hindrnarsh.. It was decided to call for tenders for 100 direct-current power supply meters, and for 500 alternating current meters.' The tender of Messrs. J. Duthie and Co., Ltd., for the supply of steel work for tho Electric Lighting Department was accepted. , Consideration of the notice of motion tabled- by Councillor Devine with regard to the Lyall Bay land purchase was postponed. It was also agreed to defer for a future meeting Councillor Fletcher's notice of motion with reference to the constitution of tho Legislative Council..
