The Liberian Minister in London declares that Great Britain, France, and Germany view favourably Washington's friendly assistance in the straightening of Liberia's finances and the settling up with her creditors. Ho had been officially assured, that tho United States did not contemplate establishing a protectorate over Liberia, and was not actuated by territorial or political motives in offering the Republic assistance. London, July 27. The newspapers note the significance of the United States' policy in arranging for a loan to straighten the finances of the African negro Republic of Liberia.
