The staff of the Public , Trust OSicb held their annual "social" Inst night in St. Peter's Schoolroom, when they gave • a'euchre party and dance. The hall was hnng with "flags, and. the stage was draped -with'flags atHhe back and'sides,, and decorated with palms;- The committee in : charge of tho arrangements were: Mrs. llastors and Miss Nash, and Messrs. M'Gowan,' Brogan, King, and Mulholland (secretary). The first ladies' prize; a , beautiful • little enamelled watch and bracelet, was won by- Miss. Nash, and the • second, an" enamelled ...bangle, * by Hiss Higgle.' Among., others present ' were: Liidy Ward, who wore a.frock of black ninon with'jet trimming; Miss, Ward, in chino silk; Mrs. Poynton, mauve ninon; Mrs. .Kendall, while satin; Mrs. Mtirrell, pompadour silk; Mrs. Eonaldson, black satin;.- Mrs; Masters, 'white' frock'; Miss Nash,, cream silk with coat' of scarlet velvet;' Mrs. Fordham, "black lace over 1 white; Mrs. Easson,.' purple .silk; Miss Martelli,- pink silk; Miss " Morris,- pink , Gilk;'Mrs.., Gibbons, . cream, luce; Mrs. Bretherton, V white; Mrs. Sievwrighfc, green silk; Miss Tresize,. white frock with ■ pinb roses'; . ' Tile Concert Chamber at the Town Hall was-'firowdedi-'witli dancers- last night, when ; tho Gregg Institute-'..combined' Hockey Clubs gave the third of their annual dances. Tho hall was decorated with festoons of .lycopodium,the stage furnished and prettily decorated, and the corridor draped with flags. Music was supplied by Mrs. Hawthorne. Supper ,was served inthe corridor, where several tables were decorated with . wattle and laden with good things. ' Mrs. Seaton and' Mrs. Fisher acted as: ch.iporons, and the' l committee, were: Misses'!' O'Neill, Kevell, Ryan,' Sexton,. Tregeu," Walker, arid Ward,' arid Messrs.' Baillie, Boiige, Krobs, .'Lawrence;' .Smith, Scliiilenberg,. and Tinney., Mrs. Sexton wore black silk,' anda grey co'at; Mrs. F.' Camellias' decorated - the rooms, the tea-table being prettily arranged an two .shades-of jpinir, tho iongetemined flowers .mixed with rose leaves,, in, tall silver; vas?s. • ". Mrs:' Tewsley'received in a frock of pale,blue crepe 'de chine, with Oriental trimming; : Miss Tewsley wore reseda green cashmere, and Mrs. Houghton was in fawn cloth, with a'toque of emerald green.''
