POINTS PBIZES AND SPECIALS.
The following are some of the points and special prizes'won at tho Dominion (Dairy Show at Hawera:— In the farm and garden produce classes, .Messrs. Thomas Borthwick aud bons, 'Waitara, presented half a ton ot cnfcmical- manure for best exhibit of root cr This was secured by Mr. J. Arundel! (Patea). .The farmer- scoring the most i points in mangolds; turnips,_ carrots; and lonions' classes was Mr. W. W llliams !(Meremere). The points prize tor marrTCWS, melons, etc., was gained by Mr. !W. Hooper. (Tokaora). , . Mr. W. Hall (Sentry Hill) secured imost points in the poultry classes and iwill get a cup, valued at 35., preeented by ; the South Taranaki Winter Show Company. The \cup is to be won itwice in succession or three times at intervals before beingiwon 1 outright. Campbell Bros. (Stratford) secured the special prize for best bird in show. ' Mr. L. O. Hooker presented a' special iprize of il-: Is. for the best breeding pen of American white Leghorns. It was gained by F. A. Worthy (Hawera). This (exhibitor also got. Mr. Cumuims's special ,of 10s. 6d. for best white Plymouth ltock ?iii &how, and Hr. C. Goodsoixs special of [£i Is. for best Orpington in show. The 'points prize; (Mr. E. T. B. Worthy s special lOs. 6d.) for, Ainerioan white Leghorhs was won by F. A. Worthy. Mr. D. Stewart (Normauby) was awarded Mr. H. Caplen's prize of il Is. for best Leg-, /horn in show. ! In tho dog section Mr. L. Tichbon' \(Stratford) gained Mr. C. A. Budge's special of 10s. 6d. for greyhounds; Mr. 1.. Kirkwood (Stratford) secured Mr. Burton's special of 10s. Gd. for English Setters, and Mr. B. C. Bennett got Mr. J. C. Caldwell's special of 10s. 6d. for Irish Setters; Mr. C. Goodson won Mr. W. . Higgs's special of 10s. 6d. for Gordon Setters. In collies Mr. E. W. .Campbell gained Mr. W. Greig!s. special of 10s. 6d. Mr. C. Goodson's. social of 10s. 6d.- in bull dogs went to Mr. A. J. B. Penbertliy .and in/the Spaniel class Mr. Tabart's 10s. 6d. special fell to Mr. H. Duigan (Wanganni). Mr. P. H. Porster won Mr. C. ■0. Ekdahl's special of 10s. 6d. for fox [terriers.
