On the unmauured plot was a ticket stating that tho livo weight gams, of muttou and wool for three years had been 14201b. - , ■ The se<Sond plot, had been topdressed in 190(3 as follows-Siipei-phosphates, 3cwt. per acre; sulpha.to of potash, lqr. per acr6. The live-weight gains cf mutton and wool for the threo years were 19251b., and tho financial gain over tho urim'anured plot was £/ 12s. 6d. , j The third plot had been top-dressed •in 1906 with ground-burnt limestone, 24cwt. per acre. The live-weight gams of mutton and wool for three years were 16061b. The financial losS by manuring was Bs. 2d. It was the result respecting this plot which prompted tlio statement that caustic lime should not .be applied to poor light soils nevoid or humus. .
