MEN'S MEETING.

A largely-attended meeting of men, in the Y.M.C.A. building yesterday afternoon, was presided over by Mr. H. N. Holmes, general secretary of tho association, Mr. John T. Lawton, M.A., of Melbourne University, who is at present travelling secretary of tho .Australasian Students' Christian Union, delivered an address, taking as his text, "Be Strong in the Lord" (Bphesians vi. 10). llr. Lawton dwelt on the duty of loyalty to country, claiming that it involved loyalty to work, and that none could be loyal to work without being loyal to life.' The foundation of all loyalty was adherence to Christ as King. A hundred men sat down ' afterwards to the strangers' tea. Among those who attended wore: Dr. and Mrs. Buck, and several Maoris, who have come to assist in the concerts which aro to be held next week.
