'THE RAILWAY SERVICE SPLIT. . (By Tolegraph—Special Correspondent.* Wanganui, July 23. Questioned to-day as to whether" there were any fresh developments in. tho matter at issue between the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants and tho Engincdrivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners* Association, Mr. AY. A. Ycitch (president of the former body) said that it would be remembered that two branches of tho E.F. and C.A. had passed resolutions declaring that a trap bad been set for them by the A.S.R.S. proposal to give all branches of the service direct representation on this conferences ami Executive Council of the society. He said that he was sorry that this view had been taken of the matter, but ho couldassuro the locomotive men that it was a mistaken view. It was a sincere attempt 011 the part of the society to meet the expresses wishes of the locomotive men, so it was possible to do so without dividing the, society's ranks, and he felt confident • that, on mature consideration, this would .be recognised,
