Referring to the remarks made at the Chamber of Commerce banquet by Sir Bichard Poore (Commander-in-Chief on the Australian Station), the Federal Prime Minister (Mr. Fisher) stated that the Australian Navy would be under the control of the Australian Government. He ■ hoped for the co-operation of the navies of the British possessions to preserve the peace of the world.
