•A FRESH PROPOSITION. Councillor .T. J. Devine has given notice ■ that ho will move at tho next meeting; of the City Council(a) That the resolution passed at the meeting of tho council, ,held on July If, 1910, having' reference to the purchase by' the coniicil from the'trustees of tho late li. D. Crawford's estate of 20 acres of land at Lyall Bay, at JL'IBO per acre (subject to a right of access through same), and the taking over, of 4 acrctf adjoining, from the said trustees for road purposes, the road to be formed by the. council at its own cost,'be rescinded; (b) that for the purposes of a recreation ground for the city, the council purchase'of the said trustees 24 acres (more or less) of land at Lyall Bay immediately adjoining the land recently acquired by the council from the said trustees, and extending eastwards, to tho rocks at tho end of the beach, and southwards to. high-water mark, without any restrictions as to access, road formation, or otherwise, at a price to- be mutually agreed upon between the council and the trustees; or, in the alternative, (c) that the council forthwith takes, under the Public Works Act, 1908, such 2-1 acres of land (or such other area as tho'council may'decide) for-the purpose of a recreation ground for the city.
