TREES FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN.

ARBOUR DAY PLANTING. Every facility in the matter of Meeting applications from school, children for planting trees on Arbor Day will be given by the superintendent of reserves. The council .will furnish such trees as may be available, and Mr. Glen and his men will give instruction to the children as to the manner of planting, etc. The children will be requested to look after the trees after they have planted Game. Discussing the matter at the City Council last evening, Councillor Luke said the council was not in a position this year to make any large outlay on Arbor Day celebrations, but the superintendent of reserves had a number of surplus trees on hand, which it was proposed to distribute to schools, in order.that they might be planted by the children.
