At a meeting of directors of the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company on Saturday, it was decided to procure a "Topliss" churn and worker, and a "Subree" pasteuriser and cooler. The Eketahuna factor}' was the first in New Zealand to instal the combined churn and worker, and the result has been so satisfactory that other factories are following the example. Mr. F. Coleman has been appointed manager of the Nikau creamery,: and Mr. F. Kjestrup, manager of the Kangitimau creamery o£ the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company. The funeral of. the late Mr. M'lvenzie, of Tanranga, took place yesterday, and was well attended, a number of Highlanders following the hearse in the national costume. A seven-aside football tournament in connection with, tho Friendly Societies of the Wairarapa was played on-the showground on Saturday, and was won by tho Druids of Carterton. AH other football fixtures for the day were postponed. The directors of the Masterton Cooperative Dairy Company decided on Saturday to make a further advance of a halfpenny per pound of butter-fat to milk suppliers for the past season. A mixed fourfotno handicap was played over twelve holes by members of the Mnsterfon Go.'f Club on Saturday last, and was won by.H. H. Pavitt and Mra Henry with CO net.

An indication of approaching spring is to be found in the fact that wattle trees are already in bloom in parts of the town.

The presentation to Mr. YV. H. Jackson, headmaster of the Masterton District High School, who has completed a service of twenty-one years' in .the district, takes- place on Wednesday evenill!?. The testimonial has Iwen fiberallj subscribed to by all sections of-the- community.

Mr. C. K. Daniell, wlro has returned from a visit to Australia, availed himself of an 'opportunity of visiting the leading Technical School in Sydney.
