PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON. London, June 2. Mr. and Mrs. W. 11. Trijrgs,.of Christchurch, have arrived in London, having visited Kgypt and tho Continent en route. Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Stuart and two daughters, from Wellington, who arrived by the Orsova, will spend somo weeks in London and then visit Scotland. . Mr. D. Donovan, of Hastings, is spending a few months in England, and intends to see something ei tho Continent bcioro returning to New Zealand via Suez. Dr. Gordon Macdonald, the well-known Dunedin surgeon; lias arrived in London, and will bo here until September, when he leaves for New Zealand via America. Mr. J. Endean and his son, Arthur, will spend the summer here, probably visiting Cornwall, Iho Midlands, Ireland, and Scotland, and returning to tho Dominion via America. Misses Eva and Hilda Nixon, of Christchurch, arrived in England by tin; Otranto, and hope to remain in this country over the winter, meanwhile visiting Scotland and this Continent. .Mr. ,T. F. Speedy, of Hawko's Bay, has arrived in London fur ;i two months visit after having spent some vrenks in Buenos Ayres. He intends to return to New Zealand via America. t Mr. and Mrs. R. It. Robinson, ol Stratford, expect to remain for another month in London, later visiting the Channel Islands and the' Continent They leave for the Dominion on September IC. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Upton, of Auckland, who wilh their daughter, Miss Nellie Upton, are visiting London just now, have booked return passages by the Mooltan, which leaves London on November a. Mrs. Arthur Nathan and the Misses Nathan have arrived in London, and intend to spend the next 18 months away from tho Dominion. They shortly go to the English and Scottish Lakes, and. later, to the Continent. Captain W. S. Gardner, of Falmerston North, who arrived hero by the Orsova from Fremantle, was one of the passengers in tho Pericles, wrecked otf tho Lcemvin. Captain Gardner, who is an old sailor, has now be«n wrecked no fewer than four times. . Mr. C. E. Hcuarlh, of -Wellington, is in England on holiday, though he is studying architecture while travelling about. He intends to tour extensively on Continent, returning to New Zealand via America, Japan, and Sydney.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Marsden and Miss Marsden, of Stoke, Nelson, who arrived ,by the Mongolia on J) ay 7, think of staying in England about a year, very probably wintering in Ijgypt or the South of Spain. They may go to Ober-Ainmergau for tho Passion I'lay, afterwards return ing to London and proceeding to Cumberland.
Mr. Alex. Crow, of Wellington, arrived by the Kimutaka, having undertaken the voyage chielly on account of ill-health. Mr. Crow intends to gather information regarding the work and orgiuitoiVion of tho St. John Ambulance Brigade iu this country during his visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Gcorgo Wright, of Auckland, and their two daughters arrived in London a few dujs ago, having It] I the Otranto_at lV.ink's and travelled overland, visiting Koiue, Florence, Venice, Milan, Switi&erlaad, and Paris. After a few weeks in London they will visit Ireland and Scoihmd. They return home by America, joining the Morama at Vancouver on October 7.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hailoy, of Auckland, have arrived in London after a Continental tour, and intend spending 6ix weeks here, later visiiing Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. They will return via America, and leave Vancouver, in tho Makura on November i.
The Kev. and Mrs. J. M'Kenzie, of C'hristclmrch, have arrived in London niter an intc-restiug* tour,, in the East*, having visHi'tl India, Ceylon, Cairo, the Holy Land, Italy, I'rance, and Switzerland before thev came over to .London. Mr. aad Mrs. Ji'Kcnsio leave for New Zealand in September.
. Messrs. W. M'A. Duncan and J. A. Todcl, who arc, both horse-owners from Wangnnui, racing in New Zealand under the name of AYiremu Tokcna, are on o holiday trip to England, and intend during (heir stay to see all the lending race meetings in England, Ireland, Scotlaud, and France. They propose to spend about a month in France on the way back to Now Zealand, and will visit Melbourne iji the Cut) week before returning to Ike Dominion.
