IRISH BLIGHT. Now Zealand is always interested in the state of the potato crops and the potato market in Australia./ At present Irish blight is troubling tho growers across the Tasuian considerably. It is intended by the Agricultural Department to endeavour to stamp out Irish blight and other diseases in potatoes by drying them in kilns. This method was accidentally discovered by Professor Bollman in 185 i. The Minister (Mr. Graham) is keenlv alive to tho necessity for dealing with Irish blight, and he proposes by drying the seed potatoes in the infected areas and having them planted in clean ground, to make a fresh start, and so do away with the possibility of blight.
