AUSTRALIAN FIGURES. SUGAR PRODUCTION DECREASES. By Tolegraph—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, July 8. Tho gold yield for tho last half year totalled 295,511 ounces, a decrease of 26,161 ounces compared with the previous corresponding half-year. Official statistics show a considerable falling-oil: in tho sugar production. In 1907, 214,242 tons wo-ro produced, as against 161,253 tons last year. AVhile the exports foil from 1177 to 205 tons, tho imports increased from 6167 to 99,698 tons. Sydney, July 8. The gold yield for the last half-year was 81,901 ounces, a decreaso of 5166 ounces. Dnlgoty's wool report states that tho export during the past year reached a record total of 2,434,643 bales, valued at £43,128,496.
