Heavy rain foil in the far north on Wednesday night, and showery v.'oather ha/; prevailed on the West Coast aud southern parts of the South Island. Westerly wirnh have prevailed, strong and squally, in both tho extreme north and south, hut generally moderate elsewhere. Present indu-ulions are. for a. change to southerly winds, increasing strong to gale after from ten to sixteen hours-, with rain and colder weather. Hail in parts and snow on higher levels. D. C.
