TRAMWAY EXTENSION.
At' the mooting of tho. Roseneath Ratepayers' Association last evening, the extension of tramway facilities was discussed at some length. A number of the residents are desirous of having the tramway led into the district, but the question of route is one of difficulty. One section favours a lino from Cou'rtcnay Place, up Mujoribanks, Hawker, and Shannon Streets, through Rosenenth and' Hatuitai, ultimately junetioning with the present' Kilbirnio fine. An alternative route would bring the line direct from Oriental Bay into .Roseneath. The ratepayers' representatives last oiv ening decided to invito tho city engineer to express his opinion as' to the'' best route. A public meeting will u0 Jicld a month hence, which a lmiirfior of City Councillors will bo invited .to attend. It is hoped that a state cV .worldng acrccment may then lie anivied at.
