HARRIERS.

.WELLINGTON CLUB. Despite tho wretched weal her on Saturday nearly 20 runners from tho Wellington Harrier Club assembled at Karori to take part in the weekly run. A •trail, laid by Finn and White, led down tho tram lino and into the gully by the Creswick Road. Here the stream was paddled for about a hundred yards, the pack then ascending through tho gorse and bush to the heights overlooking the town. These were traversed in a southerly direction for a couple of miles, the runners then' turning to the right and crossing tho gully above tho new reservoir. Then, continuing in n westerly direction, they entered Karori,. via the pleasure grounds. A quarter-mile run in was won by C. Bov.'berry, with C. Lamberg and A. R. M'Neilley second and third. A new departure in tho shape of a teams' race, Home v. Colonials, will take place next Saturday at Worserßay. The colonials being the stronger, it was decided to draw the team (five) from a box containing a dozen names. The following was the result of the drawing:— W. 'Bennett, C. Larnbcrg, L. Salek, T. Johnson, and W. Power. Emergency: C. Johnson. The Home team will be represented by B. Curry, J. Finn, A. P. White, T. I'arrington, J. M'A'ie, and A. Muir. Arrangements for the fourth annual dance, to bo held at St. Peter's Hall on Friday next, aro complete.

THE BROOKLYN CLUB. Tho usual weekly run of the Brooklyn Club wai held from Wyatfs Tea Rooms, Worser Bay, last Saturday afternoon, only a fair muster being present. The laying of the paper having been dispensed with L. Pearce was told off to act as pacemaker, and at the same time to select the course. The route, which was a splendid one, led from the tea rooms to Seatoun by road, and then over Ihe forts hill to Breaker Bay. From that point the lulls to tho .west wore traversed, and the pack, which kept in splendid order throughout the run, came down at the back of the golf links. After somo of the swampy ground around the links had been covered, the pacemaker struck out for the new gasometer where the secretary (F. Hodson) and treasurer (W. N. Beaven) picked two teams to race back to the starting point, each man going his own way. C. Murray, who is leading for the club's aggregate, finished first, closely followed by Delaney with F. Hodson close up third. The teams' race resulted in a time, each team scoring 39 points.

On Tuesday evening, in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, the ciub will hold the first of its monthly meetings, promoted to bring tho members of the club closer together, and the president, Air. R, A. Wright. M.P., and vice-presidents have signified their intention of being present. Mr. P. A. Wilton will open proceedings with an address on "How Saturday runs should bo conducted," and Mr. W. W. Beaven will give a paper on "Harrierism, its Origination, and what it has Become."
