MANAWATU TOURNEY. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) Palmcrston, June 30. Tho tourney under the auspices of tho Manawatu Boxing Association, both for novice and open events, was hold last evening. Results were as follow:— Novico Light-weights. First round: Stewart (Palmerston) won by default, from Hughes; Kcrsel" (Palmerston) won by default from Moxon; Havill (Palmcrst-on) beat Wrack (Taihape); Sugrue (Tokomaru) beat Blackbume (Palmerston). Second round: Stewart beat Kersol; Havill beat Sugrue. Final: Havill beat Stewart. . Heavy-weights. First round: Pfefferle (Stony Creek) won from Trask by default;" Downos (Longburn) won from Coldstream (Palmcrston) on a foul; Waters (Palmcrston) beat Martin (Pahuerston). Semi-final: Pfefferle beat Downes in a few seconds. I'inal: Waters beat Pfefferle. Open Championships: Feather-weights. Shields- (Palmerston) beat Brown (Palmcrston); Hill won from Havill by default. Final: Shields, beat Hill* Middle-weight. First round: Morris won by default from Butcher; Geale (Bunnythorpo) beat Dalziell (Tokomaru). Final: Geale beat Morris. Welter-weights. First ronnd: Childs won by default from Robinson; Watchorn, a by'o; Hogan, a bye. Second round: Watchorn beat Childs; Scobie beat Hogan. Final: Watchorn beat Scobie, after a good mill.
