' • ME. W. FERRIS APPOINTED. In the recent deputations of flaxfnillers to tho Minister for Agriculture, one of the requests which was emphasised as being of particular importance wns that for the appointment of a chief grader. To the Palmerston deputation last we?k the Minister said: "An appointment of a supervisor is going to be given effect to, and the gentleman that you named is the officer we think best qualified to carry on that work. Ho will bo appointed." The officer referred to.is Mr. W. Ferris, of the Wellington grading works, .who has had considerable experience as i. grader.
