Puxley, writing in the latest "Sporting and Dramatic News" (London) on t.ho serves of great tennis players, says of Mr. 11. A. Parker, of Wellington:—"Xl. A.-Parker has a curious twist} , service, whereby he was able lo obtain victories last year ovot most of his antagonists; and' only the few who reached the final rounds were able to meet him. He strikes t.ho ball on the wrong side, causung it to 'top-spin , in the air, and it seems impossible to lake it until it has touched the ground—when it shoots sideways; but this stroke, which it is said he discovered by accident, wears him down pretty fast, and during a Ions; five-sot match he cannot hold out to tho end. his serves losing more and more of tho &iiin as the match proceeds."
