STAGE HANDS' DISPUTE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Duncdin, June 28. The Conciliation Commissioner (Jlr. ITriggs), and assessors, woro engaged in. {hearing a dispute—the first of its 'kind in Now Zealand—between .tiie Dunedin jtago employee?, and Messrs. .Tohn Fuller and Sons. The employees' demands were ss follow:Mechanical department, resident: First land, X 5; per week; second hand, JM; third hand, JE3 10s.; other permanent hands, £2 155.; casual expert carpenters, is. 3d. per hour, and, for Sunday, Christmas Day, and Good Friday, 2s. per hour. Mechanical department, touring: First hand, J!5 per week; second hand, £1 per week; third hand, J3.105. per .•week. Property department, resident: Master, £5 per week; assistant, 42, 10s. per week. Property .makers: Eight hours at Is. 3d. per hour; after eight hours, Is, Cd. per Casual labourers and general hands, Is. par hour, and niter eight horn's, Is. od. per hour, with 2a. per hour for Sunday, Christmas Day, and Good Friday. Touring general hands: First hand, £i : per week; second hand, £3 10s. Light department, resident: First hand, JH por week; second hand, £3; third 'hand, 10s. Night hands: Head flyman, Ss. per periformanco (if, permanent £1 10s. per -week); men in. charge of side, ss. por (performance. Light staff, limelight assistants, etc., '£3 10s. per week; artists' assistants, J:3 10s. * per weelfi Travelling light staff, J!3 3U3.' per week. 'After a conference had been held the commissioner announced that Mr. Fuller ; had agreed to accept the conditions in ithe claim, provided that the award did Dot apply to picture, or concert entertainments, anil that a clause was inserted providing that men employed as flymen in permanent vaudeville entertainments (be paid not less than 3s. id. for each, iperformance, nil other employees to be /exempt from the award. The agreement was then adopted. It »,wiU have a currency of two years, and Ewill' come into force on August 1.
