■ —. • ' IBy TelserapS.— Special Correspondent Wanganui, June 27. Mr. F. C. Faber has sold ont his interest in tho Eutland Hotel to Mr. Lawless, of Stratford. The bar channel continues to improve almost daily. Vessels drawing from six to seven feet are now able to cross at dead low water, while others drawing from eight to ten feet can cross within two hours of same. No official sonndings have been published for about a month, but, judging from shipmasters' reports, there cannot now. be less than. 16ft. on ■the bar at high tide. 'The death was announced this morning of Mr. Horace Blythe, aged 30, a wellknown volunteer and rifle shot, who has been in failing health for some momtlis past.
