' l ■ ; -; ■ ♦ '. - ■ There is no doubt , that the Wellington' Art Club is very much alive. Its membership is now" over 150, and a glance at the club notice board shows" that both ■the musical and artistic members will be well catered for during the coming week. On Wednesday evening next Hiss Myrtle Xee gives the second of her series of lectures on art of different periods,'illnstrate'd by lantern pictures. These lectures are being looked forward to by those who had, the opportunity of hearing Jliss Lee's first, lecture' on Grecian art. On Wednesday next members arc also asked to send in sketches, photographs, and. other examples of their rwork for. an exhibition in tho studio, Tvhich will commence on Saturday. C?he rwall space will be allotted by ballot, itnd I members .will be allowed to hang tteir .own pictures. Designs are asktd for a imonogram device and club motto, and (members will be invited to vote thereon. In connection with the exhibition, the president, Mr. Kayward, is giving a prize (for the best criticism of the exhibits, rwith a view to encouraging tho development of the critical faculty among tho members. Saturday afternoon will bo a visitors" day, and members will be ■ allowed to bring* their friends. A Bohemian /concert is to be given at the club-house \on Saturday evening, but owing to tho Parge membership this will be confined to members only. ' ■ ■ ■ .' •
